Biography

Rey was a Force-sensitive human female scavenger and Jedi who discovered her latent Force-sensitivity while on a journey to find the legendary Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and bring a new hope to a galaxy on the brink of war. Rey grew up alone in the desert wastes of Jakku, longing for her family to return, until she met BB-8, who carried information about Skywalker’s whereabouts. Together with Finn, a First Order defector, and BB-8—and with the help of Han Solo and Chewbacca—she journeyed to deliver the map to Skywalker to General Leia Organa and the Resistance. Along the way, she discovered Skywalker’s lightsaber and awakened her Force powers before being captured by Kylo Ren, whom she dueled into defeat on Starkiller Base just before the Resistance destroyed the First Order superweapon. After traveling to the Resistance base, Organa tasked her with finding Skywalker and presenting him with his old lightsaber as a symbol of the only hope the galaxy had left: the return of the Jedi.

Rey’s attempt to reach out to Skywalker was initially unsuccessful, and although he reluctantly agreed to train her, Rey quickly got caught up in a Force-bond with Kylo Ren. The bond, which allowed her to communicate with Kylo telepathically, caused her to question what Skywalker did to Kylo after the latter was tempted by the dark side. She eventually left Ahch-To to sway Ren back to the light. After arriving on Snoke’s ship, the Supremacy, she was taken to his throne room where Snoke claimed that he created the bond between Rey and Ren to lure her into a trap. Snoke wanted Rey killed. Although Kylo Ren, conflicted against this order, turned against his master and killed him, he was still entrenched in the dark side and offered Rey the opportunity to join him in ruling the galaxy. Rey refused, and the two briefly struggled, causing Skywalker’s lightsaber to be destroyed. Rey escaped and headed to Crait, where she and Chewbacca aided the Resistance by taking out the First Order’s TIE fighters in the Falcon. As Skywalker distracted the First Order by projecting himself from Ahch-To, Rey helped the remainder of the Resistance escape and saw Kylo Ren once more before leaving.

“My brother…once my purpose to protect, will be the one I destroy.”

Biography

Born and raised on Coruscent, Ariza was brought into the Jedi Order at the same time as her younger brother. She was on the older side of coming into training, due to the order not discovering her abilities until they sought out her brother. Due to her age, her training seemed to progress slower than that of Balaur. However, once assigned to the Jedi Knight Khobault Stillwater, she flourished in her abilities to master the force.

Balaur and Ariza had a close relationship as siblings. While Ariza preferred her studies and her pursuit of knowledge, Balaur was over the top and always willing to run headfirst into something without thinking it through. There was a deep protective nature between them. Although Ariza sometimes had to remind her brother who was the older of the two, as he always felt the need to save her in training. Even at the risk of his own safety.

In her time at the temple, Ariza found a great love of attaining any and all knowledge she could in regards to the force. She studied both the light and the dark, trying to gain a stronger grasp on what causing this split and the negative repercussions of falling to the dark side. Upon her years of study, she had been know to sneak into the files of various dark side, or ‘sith’, abilities. While she dare not attempt to try them herself, she slowly began to gain a master level knowledge the various techniques.

While heading to her training with her master, she overheard Khobault and her brother discussing her progression. Balaur voiced concern, thinking that perhaps while she showed promise with her studies, it might be better for her to not seek the title of knight. Instead, she could maybe stay behind to continue to teach younglings or begin training as a knowledge keeper in the archives. Khobault was hesitant about agreeing to such a massive shift in her training now, but her brother insisted. He just wanted to keep her safe and if they were both to fall in battle, then it could destroy their family.

Ariza felt incredibly betrayed to think that her brother would suggest such a thing, continued to her training. However, when her master approached the topic of the matter of shifting her training, she became enraged. She shouted at Khobault how maybe her brother should remain behind. Let him not take the trials. And let her carry on to become a knight. While Khobault insisted that he did not agree with this idea, Ariza refused to listen to him. In a fit of rage, she used one of her more advanced force techniques to fill her master with fear of his past before the jedi order. While that distracted him, she took her blade and slashed him across the face, leaving him on the floor of the training room.

Ariza fled the temple, but not before taken with her the books and knowledge on the various sith techniques. She had not dared to seek out her brother, who she felt nothing but betrayal from. Whatever bond they had was long gone.
